Here at Last

After 22 hours of plane travel, plus 10 hours of layovers, we landed safely--and with all our luggage!--in Entebbe. We don't feel settled yet, especially with all the partially unpacked bags lying around, but it's good to be home. Our internal clocks still think we're on the East Coast of the U.S. rather than East Africa, but that won't last forever. Tai doesn't remember his home, and Ava is asking familiar people what their names are. We've got quarrels to mediate, shelves to organize, and trees to resuscitate. I'm trying to readjust to dirty feet and people knocking on my door at 7 in the morning. But it's good to be home. It's good to be back where we feel we have purpose and a place. It's good.
